5-Step Writing Program (K-6)

The 5-Step Writing Program has been developed over 9-years and is specifically designed for Primary School students. Lesson length: 2-hours/week

Step 3: Write Now!
Step 4: Reading & Understanding
Step 5: Word Power
The level system for this program is based on the NSW Board of Studies learning requirements for each Stage of Primary School. Stages 1-3 have 2 levels: Intermediate and Advanced.

Students sit a FREE Placement Test to establish their level. It is possible that a Year 4 student could be a Stage 3 student or a Year 5 student at Stage 2 level. The great strength of our program is that students are placed at the best level for them with the best material taught by a professional teacher.

Y.E.S Education Centre Philosophy

Y.E.S Education Centre is an after school tuition college offering English, Debating/Presentation and Maths coaching for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. We are not here to compete with schools but rather to provide students with syllabus based support and consolidation in a small group environment (max. 10 per class). We provide students with outstanding, personalised lessons and teaching.

Unlike many of our competitors, we do not focus primarily on the ‘gifted student’ market, i.e. Selective School, Opportunity Class, etc. We target students in the middle range, in particular new arrivals /migrants and 2nd generation students from non-English speaking backgrounds.

At Y.E.S Education Centre, a holistic approach to education is the cornerstone of our philosophy, which is reflected in the ‘We Build Students’ motto. Y.E.S Education Centre is a place where students receive encouragement, support and constructive criticism. Students are kept motivated through a range of initiatives including rewards, certificates and weekly quizzes.

Y.E.S Education Centre는 유치원부터 12학년까지의 학생 들에게 영어, 토론/발표, 수학 등 양질의 교육을 제공합니다. 저희는 학교와 경쟁하기 보다는 소그룹안에서 syllabus를 기초로 수업 하는 것을 원칙 으로 합니다.

일반적인 학원들과는 다르게 “우수한 학생”의 양육에만 그치치 않고 중간그룹의 학생들, 특히 유학생, 이민 2세등 영어가 모국어가 아닌 학생들의 교육에 더욱 집중합니다.

The ONLY promise Y.E.S makes is that your child’s Literacy and Numeracy Skills WILL improve. We are able to make this promise because Y.E.S Education Centre is owned and operated by experienced Education Professionals, who understand the learning process and stages of development. These stages CANNOT be skipped or avoided!

There can be little benefit in placing your child in a learning environment that is too far beyond their ability. For example, the belief that memorizing abstract vocabulary out of context and exposing students to complex texts that are too difficult in the hope that your child’s writing will improve is, unfortunately, misguided. Furthermore, the ability to perform well in a pre-practiced test does not necessarily mean your child has mastered the grammar and structural knowledge of a given text required to produce a cohesive and coherent piece of writing.

Our Education philosophy is to strengthen and build on the basics first. In English, this is achieved through our systematic programs, which expose students to discourse at the sentence and structural level, whilst at the same time examining school syllabus text types and their unique features.

학생을 능력보다 턱없이 어려운 과정에서 교육받게 함으로써 얻는 이득은 아주 적습니다. 문맥에서 벗어난 추상적인 단어를 외우는 것이나, 쓰기능력이 향상되기를 기대하며 복잡한 문장에 노출시키는 것이 그 예입니다. 이것은 잘못된 방법이라고 감히 말할 수 있습니다. 반복된 연습을 통해 시험에서 좋은 성적을 받는것이 학생이 문법이나 문장수조를 모두 이해했다거나 논리적인 글을 쓸만한 준비가 되었다고 보기는 어렵습니다.
